Kaanto Se Dosti Naa Kar Eh Dost
Kaanto se dosti naa kar eh dost, Dard tujhe hi hogaa… Andhere ki aadat padd gayi hai, Kisi ko roshni kyaa dikhaaoon? Khushi kyaa doon kisi ko? Ab toh muskuraanaa bhi farz ban kar reh gayaa hai…   .. more

Aankhon Mei Qaid
Aasmaan se ghir rahi hai baraf, Aaj shaayad rab hai meherbaan. Mulaayam, safed chaadar se dhakaa yeh jahaan, Waqt jaise tham saa gayaa hai…sanaataa har taraf. Kal phir suraj ki nazar naa lag jaaye— Kar le nazaaraa aankhon mei qaid ab, Kal toh adhoore armaano ki tarah pighal jaayegaa sab.   .. more

Karthik Calling Karthik: Music Review
I always look forward to checking out Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s work…the trio is versatile, has really explored various genres of music throughout the years and has contributed some very memorable compositions to the Hindi music industry from time to time. Sure, Short Kut and Thodda Pyaar Thodda Magic... .. more

Ek Baar Phir
ek baar phir pattein ghir rahe hain, ek baar phir mausam badal rahaa hai, kaash waqt bhi yun hi badal jaataa, kaash thodde faasle kam toh ho jaate... kehne ko toh itne pal kal aur aaj ke darmiyaan aaye, kehne ko toh itne pal kal aur aaj ke beech se gaye, phir bhi aise kyun lagtaa hai sab waise kaa waisaa hai, kuch bhi toh badlaa nahin... .. more

Half Century! B’wood Interviews
It just dawned upon me. I’ve interviewed over 50 B’wood celebrities over the past 2 years–it all started in May 2007 at the VOA’s Hindi Radio. I remember my first interview—the interviewee was Kailash Kher. No, initially they weren’t really expecting an intern to secure and conduct any interviews…but I did and they were all pleasantly surprised and extremely supportive. They even let me organize and co-host one of their live call-in shows which was... .. more

Books, Books, and MORE Books!
I’ve always loved reading! When I was really, really little I’d go to the library with my mom and sister and bring back huge stacks of picture books to read—the librarians quickly had to give me a Red library card instead of the Blue one since I was exceeding the limit for number of books to be checked out by kids. Yup, quite a book worm I was…am. By the time I was 5 years old I was picking up books from the ‘Chapter Book’ section. During the elementary... .. more

Poems In Hindi
Here are some of the poems I’ve written in Hindi (umm, well not really Hindi but a mix of Hindi and Urdu since I never learned Hindi formally) over the past eight years (NO, they are not posted in chronological order)…I find it difficult to come up with titles for poems (vaise bhi, naam mei kyaa rakhaa hai?) so I’ve separated the poems with _ _ _ _ _ lines (pun not intended, lol!). Kuch khwaab se hai... Nahin, toote toh nahin, Par poore bhi... .. more

A Few Poems
Felt like posting some of the poems I’ve written over the past few years… Decisions Too many options breed too many decisions, But what’s the point if it’s all just predestination? Variety, after a while, looses its spice, Turning routine, Consequences serve as the epilogue to the story of choice, Even liberty has its vice. How To? .. more

First Grade Composition Book Memories
First grade. I vividly remember. Our teacher would hand us all those thin blue composition books with wide-ruled lines (which I’d have happily traded any day for the smaller, college-ruled lines, grr), and told us to write whatever came to our mind…most of the class took months to fill up their composition book, but much to the surprise (and sometimes envy) of others, I’d fill the notebooks with thoughts... .. more
